NBAAGC Registration Portal AGCPC Assures of end to minor technical glitches ..says most of the issues stem from wrong inputs by delegates

The 63rd edition of the Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA AGC) billed to hold from August 25 till September 1 2023 at the M.K.O Abiola Stadium in Abuja, had already been heralded by Unveiling of the Conference Theme as well as launch of the registration portal on Monday May 15, 2023, during a press conference in Abuja

At the conference, President of the NBA Mr Y.C Maikyau OON, SAN, had introduced members of the planning committee, attendees, as well the IT Consultant for the 2023 conference and had consequently, flagged open the registration portal for the conference @ www.nbaconference.com while members were urged to commence registration.

TRIPLENET reports that since the commencement of registration, the process has taken off and proceeded smoothly, but lately as is often expected with digital innovations, some delegates have complained of technical hitches, which they said had stalled their registration process

These complaints has already been brought to the notice of the 2023 Conference Planning Committee, who are now giving rapt attention to the issues therein, with assurances that all will be fixed in no time.

Speaking on the development, Alternate Chairperson of the AGCPC, Oyinkan Badejo-Okunsanya FCIArb says that the committee is currently "dealing" with the issues, and would emerge with a solution soon.

She, however, hinted that some of the complaints stemmed from delegates who input information different from what is already saved on the database.

TRIPLENET recalls that during the unveiling of the 2023 conference theme, the IT Consultant Mrs Nkiru Okeke had directed that delegates were only required to go to the website and type in their supreme court enrollment number adding that "if you do not know that, then you only need to type in your name and the rest of your details will follow suit"

Okeke, had noted that the IT Consultant essentially made it seamless in such a way that everyone who had registered in 2021 or 2022, already had their data cached.

She said that this meant that the data was already saved on the database and that delegates only needed to login with the same email they used in 2021 or 2022 and do some few edit, then upload their photographs and proceed to payment

She had however, warned that where one is not lawyer, such person will also be required to type in their names because, they do not have a pre-saved data on the database.

Reiterating some of the points already made by the IT Consultant last Monday, Badejo-Okunsanaya called for patience from delegates

While noting that there are bound to be some issues with such process, she noted more importantly, that capitalisation of names of delegates plays a vital role in registration for the conference.

"If it is missing even just one letter, or has a capital letter instead of small caps, it will read invalid" she said

She, however, assured that the committee was working round the clock to sort it out

Besides, she also hinted that there will be put in place, some FAQ'S to also help the process.

With this, lawyers are thus enjoined to be "rest assured"
