NBA OTA CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

NBA OTA [the Utter Bar] joins the world in celebrating the International Women’s’ Day which event comes up today, the 8th of March, 2023.

In marking this Day, the Utter Bar Human Rights Committee will be visiting the Elderly People’s Facility in Ota to sensitize on the protection and promotion of Women’s rights in the context of the framework of our laws.

We call on all our members to be part of this momentous event as we strive to deepen awareness on the core issue affecting women rights and associated issues of concern.

We call on all women rights groups within the Nigerian Bar Association [NBA] context including AWLA, FIDA, Female lawyers etc to synergise in standing up for the rights of women in our society. We desire to see more inter-organizational collaborations geared towards effectiveness in achieving the total well being of women in all aspects of our society.

The Utter Bar therefore calls on all organizations/companies to ensure their workplace policies and corporate social responsibilities [CSR] reflect priotization of women’s’ rights and their empowerment in organizational hierarchies.

Towards achieving the goal of women integration, the Utter Bar advocates for the necessary implementation of special status for women in governance and appointments in various strata of leadership at levels of government.
