Dear Sir,

PETITION OF FLAGRANT ABUSE OF TOWN PLANNING REGULATIONS, IMPUNITY, SITING OF A FUEL AND GAS STATION IN AN INFLAMMABLE AREA/ TRAFFIC ZONE AND OTHER TOWN PLANNING ABUSES.

We are a Non-Governmental Organization that is geared towards good governance and development strides. We came across a very worrisome development along Airport Road by the golf course traffic light where one ANDY MONDU and co-sponsors without any approval whatsoever from the requisite approving Authorities have cited a fuel and gas station contrary to the following regulations:

That the land upon which the fuel and gas station is situate is measuring 70 feet by 80 feet, which is below the approvable measurement of the Regulations of the Edo State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development and also against the extant Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), for a fuel/gas station.
That the exit of the fuel and gas station is overlooking the traffic which situation is against the Town Planning Regulations and will lead to an incessant traffic logjam on the busy Airport Road, Benin City.
That the said fuel and gas station is situate less than 500 metres from the next gas station- OTOPEC, which is against the extant Regulations of the Edo State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.
That the location of the said fuel and gas station does not meet the minimum requirements of the Edo State Fire and Safety Regulations.
That the said fuel and gas station is very close to a church, which is against the extant DPR Regulations on the issue.
That the promoters of the said fuel/gas station; ANDY MONDU and co-sponsors do not have the approval from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to set up the station close to an Airport facility.
That the said fuel and gas station does not have any approval from any agency of Government whatsoever.
That the promoter of the illegally sited fuel and gas station, ANDY MONDU and co-sponsors are boastful that they can get away with the siting of the fuel and gas station despite the Regulatory impediments, which are irredeemable and we are putting up this Petition to you Sir, knowing that you are an Apostle of due process and proprietary and we humbly urge you sir to stop this impunity of the promoters of doomed facility, who are already constructing the said fuel and gas station without the requisite approvals as provided for by Law.
