JUSUN STRIKE: NBA PRESIDENT PROVIDES UPDATE; EXPRESSES HOPE OF AN IMMINENT END.

Dear Colleagues

As you are aware, the industrial action embarked upon by the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) on 6th April 2021 enters its 8th week today, with its attendant consequences on the administration of justice system in the country as well as on the economic fortunes of the majority of our members who earn a living from, and use, the court system.

In line with what the leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association ("NBA") has continued to do, which is to provide you with updates on developments arising from the strike action, please find attached the latest update from the President of the NBA, Mr. Olumide Akpata.

The NBA leadership is optimistic that, based on recent developments, the strike action will be called off shortly. The NBA leadership also appreciates the sacrifices of the members and once again commends the efforts of its Branches in standing firm, and putting the necessary pressure on the various State Governments, to obey the law in this regard.
