NBA President Leads Delegation to Kaduna for Condolence Visit to Late Yunus Ustaz SANs Family

Yesterday, Saturday 8th March, 2025, the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, led a delegation of bar leaders to Kaduna State on a formal condolence visit to the family of the late Yunus Ustaz Usman, SAN. The late legal luminary was a revered member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the NBA and a highly respected figure in the Nigerian legal community.

Accompanying the NBA President were the Attorney General of Kaduna State, Chairmen of NBA branches in Kaduna, senior bar leaders, and other key stakeholders. The delegation visited the family home of the late Senior Advocate of Nigeria to express their deepest sympathies and to honor his remarkable legacy of service to the legal profession and the nation.

In his remarks, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, described Yunus Ustaz, SAN, as a dedicated advocate of justice, a mentor to many, and a pillar of the legal profession whose contributions to law and national development were immeasurable. He emphasized that the NBA, and indeed the entire legal community, has lost a distinguished bar leader whose wisdom, integrity, and service to the profession will never be forgotten.

The President further assured the bereaved family that the NBA stands with them in difficult times and will continue to uphold the values and ideals that the late Ustaz SAN represented throughout his illustrious career.

The visit was marked by prayers and heartfelt tributes from members of the delegation, who recounted the late Ustaz’s immense contributions to legal advocacy, mentorship, and the pursuit of justice in Nigeria.

The NBA remains committed to preserving the legacy of its esteemed members and ensuring that the sacrifices and dedication of senior bar leaders like Yunus Ustaz, SAN, continue to inspire future generations of lawyers.

May his soul rest in peace.
