RE: DISCLAIMER, REBUTTAL AND PUBLIC NOTICE OF THE NIGERIAN LAW SOCIETY (NLS) AGAINST ONE TONYE CLINTON JAJA

OVER IMPERSONATION OF THE NIGERIAN LAW SOCIETY AND THE ALLEGED CREATION OF A “NEW NIGERIAN LAW SOCIETY”

The Nigerian Law Society (NLS), being a duly constituted and recognized by Law and the Judiciary particularly as per the Federal High Court judgment as a professional body of legal practitioners in Nigeria, hereby issues this Disclaimer, Rebuttal and Public Notice to clarify the misleading, false, and unauthorized claims being circulated by one Tonye Clinton Jaja.

False Claims, Dissociation and Misrepresentation:

The Nigerian Law Society unequivocally disassociates itself from Tonye Clinton Jaja and rejects in its entirety his claims, statements, or representations purporting to speak for, act on behalf of, or in any way dissociate the Nigerian Law Society from his shenanigans.

Non-Recognition of “Blue Silk Status”

For the avoidance of doubt, the Nigerian Law Society does not recognize, confer, or operate any status, rank, or designation known as “Blue Silk”. Any claim to such a status by Tonye Clinton Jaja or any other person is false, misleading, and without legal or institutional foundation.

Alleged Creation of a “New Nigerian Law Society”

The Nigerian Law Society further states that the purported creation or existence of a “New Nigerian Law Society” by Tonye Clinton Jaja is illegal, fictitious, unauthorized, and unknown to law. The Nigerian Law Society remains one, indivisible, and subsisting, and no individual has the power or authority to unilaterally create a parallel or replacement body under the same or similar name.

Cessation of Membership:

The public is hereby informed that Tonye Clinton Jaja has ceased to be a member of the Nigerian Law Society (NLS) and no longer enjoys any rights, privileges, recognition, or authority whatsoever within the Society. Consequently, he lacks the locus standi to represent, bind, or make pronouncements in the name of the Nigerian Law Society.

Warning to the General Public:

Members of the public, institutions, organizations, and stakeholders are hereby strongly warned to desist from dealing, interacting, or transacting with Tonye Clinton Jaja in any capacity purporting to relate to or derive from the Nigerian Law Society (NLS). Any such dealings are done entirely at the risk of the affected parties.

It is also pertinent to mention that Tonye Clinton Jaja has been habitually known for hijacking and setting up parallel associations which is evident in the use of his private NGO- ALDRAP to award the status of Blue Silk to lawyers. For this disruptive act, the NBA at its last NEC meeting passed an official resolution to take him to the LPDC.

Legal Consequences:

The Nigerian Law Society reserves its full legal rights to take appropriate civil and/or criminal action against Tonye Clinton Jaja or any person(s) who continue to propagate falsehood, impersonation, misrepresentation, or acts capable of bringing the Society into disrepute.

Authentic Information:

The public is advised to rely only on official communications, publications, and platforms of the Nigerian Law Society for accurate and lawful information concerning its activities, leadership, membership, and institutional structure.

This Disclaimer and Rebuttal is issued in the interest of truth, professional integrity, and public protection.
