NIGERIAN LAW SOCIETY GOLF CLUB RETURNS FOR 2ND ANNUAL TOURNAMENT ON JULY 17, 2026

Following the resounding success of its inaugural outing, the Nigerian Law Society (NLS) Golf Club is set to return to the greens for the 2nd Edition of its Annual Golf Tournament at the Zuma Rock Golf Course on Friday, July 17, 2026, as a part of activities marking its 4th Annual General Conference. This year’s event promises to be a masterclass in professional networking, physical wellness, and high-stakes competition.

The tournament will once again be coordinated by the legendary Pro. Uloma Mbuko-Ogbuokiri, Nigeria’s pioneering female golf professional, whose expertise ensures a world-class experience for participants of all skill levels. The event is expected to draw a distinguished assembly of legal luminaries, including the NLS President, Chief Audu Mela Nunghe, SAN, Bencher, and the visionary Captain of the NLS Golf Club, Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama, SAN, Life Bencher.

Building on the legacy established at the Zuma Rock Golf Course last year, the 2026 edition aims to elevate the game. All eyes will be on the defending champion, Mr. Akpan Ubong, to see if he can retain his title against an increasingly competitive field of golfer-lawyers.

Golfing lawyers, whether members of the NLS or not, interested in playing at the 2026 edition are invited to secure their slots with a participation fee of N25,000 per person (inclusive of both green and caddy fees). Payments are to be made to the account with details provided below:

Name: Elite Global Golf Academy
Account number: 1482724387
Bank: Access Bank Plc.

Thereafter, evidence of payment should be forwarded to the email address, peacejohnnigerianlawsociety@gmail.com.

The tournament remains a flagship initiative with souvenirs sponsored by Ali Gwarda Golf Club, and Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama, SAN, who continues to champion the integration of sports and law. Chief Gadzama, a former Captain of the IBB International Golf and Country Club, has long maintained that the discipline, precision, and integrity required on the golf course are the very same virtues that define a successful legal career. Notably, Chief Gadzama is also Pioneer Captain of the NBA Golf Section.
