Former NBA Benin Branch Chairman Chief Nosa Edo-Osagie celebrates children on their Call to Bar

There are days a father will never forget. Today is one of mine.

My dear children Omorogiuwa and Adesuwa, watching you both prepare to be called to the Bar fills my heart with emotions that words can scarcely capture. It seems like only yesterday I held your tiny hands, watched your first uncertain steps, answered your endless questions, encouraged your dreams and prayed that God would order your paths.

Today, those little children have become accomplished young men and women, ready to take their place in one of the noblest professions known to mankind.

Your journey has not been without sacrifice. I witnessed your sleepless nights, your determination, your moments of anxiety and your unwavering resolve to excel. Through every examination, every challenge and every milestone, you never stopped believing in yourselves.

Today, your perseverance has been crowned with honour.

As your father and an accomplished lawyer, nothing gives me greater joy than seeing you become people of character, discipline, humility and excellence. Your academic achievements have made me proud, but even more importantly, the values you embody make me prouder to call you my children.
The legal profession which has defined my path has given me purpose, identity and a lifetime of service. Knowing that both of you have chosen this same honourable path and Osayuwa in the wings is a blessing I do not take for granted. I pray that you will wear the wig, not merely as a symbol of professional accomplishment, but as a constant reminder that justice, integrity and compassion must always guide your lives.

Always remember that your surname may open a door, but only your character, competence and integrity will keep that door open. Guard your name jealously. Protect your reputation fiercely. Let your word remain your bond, and never compromise your values for temporary gain.

Thank you for making your mother and me proud. The countless sacrifices, prayers and hopes invested in your upbringing have found beautiful expression in the remarkable adults you have become.

As you are called to the Bar, I pray that God will order your steps, enlarge your coast, preserve your integrity and make your legal careers impactful. May you stand for truth when it is unpopular, defend justice without fear, and leave every place better than you met it.
Congratulations, my dear children.

You will always be my greatest pride, my answered prayers, and my enduring legacy.

With all my love,
Dad
